    Public Mischief Arrest

    A 21-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge of public mischief.

    On December 26, 2024, officers took a report of a vehicle that had been stolen from a parking lot while the man was at work.

    Community FIRST Arrest

    A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge of breaching probation.

    At approximately 9:50pm on January 8, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit were conducting a proactive patrol of a parking garage in the area of Charlotte Street and Simcoe Street.

    Missing Person

    The Peterborough Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 14-year-old Peterborough girl.

    Neveah Wallwork was last seen Friday, January 3, 2025 leaving a residence in the Third Avenue and Clonsilla Avenue area.

    Festive RIDE

    Officers with the Peterborough Police Service conducted three Festive RIDE checks between December 20, 2024, and January 1, 2025.

    In all:

    Vehicles Stopped: 1,511
    Sobriety Tests Administered: 95
    Fail: 2
    Warnings: 1

    At approximately 12:30am on Saturday, December 21, 2024, officers conducting a RIDE check on Lansdowne Street West near Kawartha Heights Boulevard.

    Motor Vehicle Theft with Violence Arrests

    Two teenagers are facing charges in connection with a carjacking on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. 

    At approximately 8:00pm on New Year's Day, two people approached a vehicle in the area of Wolf Street and Park Place pulled a woman from her vehicle and punched her in the face before fleeing in the vehicle.

  • Human remains found in Otonabee River in 1988 identified

    Advanced DNA testing technology helps Peterborough Police Service identify human remains found in Otonabee River in 1988

    Peterborough, ON – Wednesday, December 11, 2024

    On July 10th, 1988, recreational divers located a human skull in the Otonabee River, near Lock and McKellar Street, approximately 130 feet from the shore.  When the skull was found a postmortem examination was conducted, which revealed it belonged to a male and that he was the victim of homicide.

  • Request for Proposal for Vehicle Towing Services

    Peterborough Police Service has opened a Request for Proposal for Vehicle Towing Services. 

    The RFP is for the supply of 24-hour towing services and vehicle secure storage pound facilities for use by the PPS within the City of Peterborough, the Township of Cavan Monaghan and the Village of Lakefield for the 2025 through 2029 term.

  • Peterborough Police Service moves to Verified Alarm Response Program

    Peterborough, ON February 2, 2024

    As of March 1st, 2024, the Peterborough Police Service will be joining other police services by introducing a Verified Alarm Response Program (VARP).  This means Alarm Monitoring Services will be required to verify any alarm signal they receive prior to notifying police.
