    Two people from Peterborough are facing charges after an investigation into an incident in September.

    At approximately 8:20pm on September 21, 2025, officers were called to Armour Hill after several people reported seeing a man waving a firearm from a vehicle before the vehicle drove off.

    The Peterborough Police Service responded to a call for service at an address on Park Street at approximately 4:00pm on Monday, September 29, 2025. Based on the information received, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) cleared the residence and determined it to be safe.

    Indecent Act Arrest

    A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday afternoon.

    At approximately 1:30pm on September 28, 2025, officers were called to Beavermead Park about a man exposing himself while walking around.

  • Peterborough Police Service receives provincial grant to enhance MCIT program

    Thanks to a MCRT (Mobile Crisis Response Team) Enhancement Grant from the Government of Ontario, the Peterborough Police Service is teaming up with Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) to increase the number of MCIT (Mobile Crisis Intervention Teams) they put on the street. 

    The provincial investment of $240,000 over two years (2025-2026 and 2026-2027) will enable the Service to create a third team of a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and a qualified officer.

    Break and Enter/Stolen Vehicle Suspects Sought – UPDATE

    One person has been arrested and charged in connection with a break and enter and stolen vehicle incident that happened Monday, September 22, 2025, at a Lakefield business as well as another break and enter at a Peterborough business on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

    Through investigation a suspect was identified and a warrant for their arrest was issued.

    Drug Arrests

    Four people are facing charges after an investigation into a vehicle that kept fleeing from police.

    At approximately 4:15 am on September 22, 2025, an officer on general patrol attempted a traffic stop on an older model pickup truck.

    Break and Enter/Stolen Vehicle Suspects Sought

    Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after two vehicles were stolen and a business broken into recently.

    At approximately 6:20am on Monday, September 22, 2025, officers were called to a business on Bridge Street in Lakefield.

    Weapons Arrest

    A 38-year-old Douro man is facing several charges after a disturbance call was made to Peterborough Police on Saturday night.

    At approximately 10:20pm on September 20, 2025, officers were called to the area of Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street about a man with a knife brandishing it toward another man.

    Stunt Driving Arrest

    An 18-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after a stop on Water Street Thursday evening.

    At approximately 6:30pm on September 18, 2025, an officer was on general patrol in the area of Water Street and Marina Blvd.

    Bank Investigator Scam Suspect Sought

    Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after several reports came in about the bank investigator scam have come in over the last two weeks.

    In one case, the suspect posed as a representative from a banking institution, attended a Peterborough retirement home, and picked up the 91-year-old victim’s bank card and VISA.
