    Drug Warrant Arrests

    Five people are facing charges after the Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit conducted a search warrant recently.

    On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, officers with the Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Rubidge Street and Townsend Street area.

    July 2022 Homicide Update

    Three people charged in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old man in July 2022 have been found guilty. 

    The trial held in Lindsay wrapped up Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after three and a half weeks.

    Fraud Arrest

    A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing a fraud charge in connection with money being taken from a local business.

    At approximately 11:30am on Monday, June 16, 2025, officers were called to the business and learned that an audit had revealed that just over $30,000 had been taken between February 2025 and June 2025.

    Warrant Arrest

    A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on three warrants was taken into custody Saturday afternoon.

    At approximately 1:20pm on June 14, 2025, an officer on bike patrol spotted the man in a park in the Rubidge Street and McDonnel Street area.

    Suspicious Vehicle Incident

    The Peterborough Police Service has been made aware of an incident in a west-end neighbourhood this week.

    At approximately 8:20pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a family walking in the area of Glenforest Boulevard and Keppler Crescent reported that their son had been approached by two people in a white van who asked him to get into the vehicle.

    Auto Thefts/Attempt Thefts Investigation

    Officers with the Peterborough Police Service continue to investigate more thefts and attempted thefts of Toyota brand vehicles over the past few weeks.

    At approximately 2:50am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, officers were called about a suspicious vehicle in the subdivision at Parkhill Road West and Chandler Crescent and that a Toyota Highlander was being targeted.

    Low Speed Vehicles Enforcement

    Officers with the Peterborough Police Service Traffic Management Unit are reminding residents about the rules around low-speed vehicles (LSV) after a traffic stop Monday.

    At approximately 11:30am on June 9, 2025, officers stopped a low-speed vehicle in the Barnardo Avenue and O’Carroll Avenue area.

    Traffic Stop/Drug Arrest

    A 54-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on a warrant is facing more charges after a traffic stop Tuesday morning.

    At approximately 1:40am on June 10, 2025, an officer on general patrol in the Rubidge Street and Sherbrooke Street area conducted a traffic stop.

    Motor Vehicle Collision – Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street

    A motorcyclist was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre after a collision at Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street Friday evening.

    The collision between the motorcycle and the truck happened at about 8:00pm and the road was closed for about an hour.

    Beginning Monday June 9, 2025, Peterborough Police Officers will be directed to move to a next level of engagement in the Safer Public Spaces approach to community safety and open-air illicit drug use. This next level will follow direction from the Chief to initiate arrests of those who continue to engage in open-air illicit drug use.
