  • Message from Chief of Police re: Homicide Court Update

    **I am releasing this statement to the community in accordance with the provisions of the Community Safety and Police Act, and Ontario Regulation 412/23, specifically.

    Pursuant to section 3(a) and section of the Regulation, I am authorized to release “personal information about an individual as if the individual had been charged with an offence under any federal or provincial Act if the individual, is arrested and released in accordance with Part XVI of the Criminal Code (Canada)”.

    Wanted Man Arrested - Update

    The 34-year-old Peterborough man arrested on the morning of Wednesday, September 17, 2025 after fleeing from police on Tuesday is facing more charges.

    At approximately 1:15pm on September 16, 2025, officers with Peterborough Police Service Investigative Services and officers with the provincial ROPE (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) squad were working to apprehend a man wanted on a warrant for substantial.

    Wanted Man Arrested

    The 34-year-old man who was the subject of a large-scale police search that started yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, September 16, 2025) has been arrested.  He was located and taken into custody about 11:10am on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

    Search for Wanted Male

    The Peterborough Police Service, Emergency Response Team, K9 and an OPP helicopter are currently in the area of Maniece Avenue and Ashburnham Drive searching for a wanted male.

    The male is wanted in connection with non-violent crimes.

    Impaired Arrest

    A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a singe motor vehicle collision early Tuesday morning.

    At approximately 1:40am on September 16, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service received a couple of calls about a vehicle in the ditch in the area of Monaghan Road and Parkhill Road.

    Warrant Arrest

    A 30-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation was arrested by officers on foot patrol Friday.

    During a search after arrest, officers located and seized:

    • 20 Hydromorphone pills in a bottle not belonging the suspect
    • Fentanyl
    • Crack-cocaine
    • Black imitation pistol and ammunition

    As a result, a 30-year-old.

    Road Rage/Hate Bias Arrest

    A 50-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after a road rage incident Wednesday evening. 

    At approximately 6:00pm on September 10, 2025, officers were called to the area of Hunter Street West and Aylmer Street.

    Stunt Driving/Impaired Arrest

    A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired and stunt driving charges after a traffic stop in Peterborough early Wednesday morning.

    At approximately 2:17am on September 10, 2025, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Water Street and Mill Street spotted a vehicle going 90 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.

    Indecent Acts Arrest

    A 23-year-old Peterborough man charged earlier this year with harassment and possession of child pornography is facing more charges after an investigation into more of his devices.

    Officers conducted a search warrant of a phone and located photos and videos of indecent acts and voyeurism while at his place of work (which was closed to the public), in his home and in the community.

    Fail to Remain – Information Sought

    Officers with the Traffic Management Unit are investigating after a 6-year-old boy was struck while crossing at an intersection in August.

    At approximately 3:30pm on Monday, August 25, 2025, the boy was struck as he and his dad were crossing at the traffic light on Chemong Road that serves the Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart plazas.
