Public Complaints and Oversight

The Peterborough Police Service is committed to serving our community in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.  Amongst our core values is transparency as we work to enrich the community's trust and confidence in the Peterborough Police Service. There are both internal and external bodies that allow for oversight of members and the Peterborough Police Service as a whole.

The Peterborough Police Service Professional Standards Unit responds to internal complaints in an unbiased and professional manner.

There are two main organizations that respond to complaints from the public (external).  These are the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency (LECA) and The Special Investigations Unit (SIU)

The Inspector General of Policing investigates complaints about Peterborough Police Service policies and service provided.
