Theft From Vehicle Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 10:15am on August 19, 2026, officers were called to a parking lot in the Rink Street and George Street area about a woman going through a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle attempted to stop the woman, but she left the area. Upon arrival, officers learned that the vehicle had been entered and that some money was gone. During a search of the area, officers located a woman matching the description given to police and took her into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

• Theft Under $5000
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court November 10, 2026.

Drug Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after officers on general patrol spotted suspicious activity.

At approximately 1:40pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, officers in the Chamberlain Street and Jackson Avenue spotted a vehicle being driven by a man without a front license plate.  When officers activated their emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle did not pullover right away and when it did officers could see that the driver and passenger had switched spots. Officers took the original driver into custody and during a search after arrest located and seized:

• 2.1 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
• Drug paraphernalia
• Canadian currency

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
• Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 29, 2026.

Robbery Arrest

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, officers were notified of an incident in which the suspect took some money and alcohol from the victim, before grabbing and shoving her to the ground and leaving the residence. The two had been in a relationship. Officers attended the residence of the suspect and took him into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Robbery with violence
• Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following condition: to not be in contact with the victim.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 20, 2026.

Assault Arrest

A 46-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

At approximately 5:30pm on August 19, 2026, officers were called about an incident in which a verbal argument between a couple became physical and male struck the female with a piece of wood, pulled a knife on her and verbally threatened her. Officers located the man at his residence and took him into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon - Spousal X2
• Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 20, 2026.
