Media Release for Thursday, July 16, 2026

IPV/Assault with a Weapon Arrest:

A 24-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested on multiple domestic and weapon related charges after an incident Wednesday night.

At approximately 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 911 dispatch received a call from a female screaming, and the call disconnected. Officers were dispatched to the area of Lansdowne Street and Applewood Crescent. Upon arrival, officer located a female with injuries. It was learned through the investigation that the victim had been assaulted and the victim’s phone had been damaged. The victim was transported by ambulance to Peterborough Region Health Centre for treatment.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

•        Assault with a weapon – spousal
•        Assault – spousal
•        Assault cause bodily harm
•        Mischief

During the arrest, the accused threatened officers. The accused was further charged with:

•        Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused has been held in custody and will appear in court today, July 16, 2026.

IPV Arrest

A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested on an IPV charge from an incident Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, officers were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call from the area of Sadler Way and Bamford Terrace. 911 dispatch attempted to call the phone number back with negative results. Officers arrived at the location and located a female with injuries and in distress.  

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was charged with:

•        Assault – spousal

The accused has been held in custody, and will appear in court today, July 16, 2026.
