Assault
A 15-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident on Friday night.
At approximately 8:30pm on October 2, 2026, officers were called to Bonnerworth Park in the Monaghan Road and McDonnel Street area after a report of a large group of teens confronting another group of skateboarders. Upon arrival to the park, officers learned that one of the teens had brandished a knife and verbally threatened the group. A short time later, a teen matching the description given to police was located and taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court November 9, 2026.
The name of the accused cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Impaired Arrest
A 19-year-old Almonte, ON man is facing impaired and driving charges after an incident Saturday night.
At approximately 9:40pm on October 3, 2026, officers were on George Street in the area of King Street when a vehicle drove by making excessive noise. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it kept going at a high rate of speed in a busy area. At that time a traffic officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the Sherbrooke Street and Water Street area. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Almonte, ON man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operate unsafe vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)
- Improper muffler - motor vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)
- Unnecessary noise (Highway Traffic Act)
- Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to have insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 10, 2026.
Impaired Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday morning.
At approximately 7:30am on October 4, 2026, officers were called to the area of Johnson Drive and Beardsmore Road in Peterborough after several calls came into 9-1-1 about a driver slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and running. Officers were able to wake the driver and through further conversation observed signs of impairment.
As a result of an investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 17, 2026.
Mischief Arrest
A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 9:00pm on October 4, 2026, officers were called to the area of King Street and Bethune Street after a man was spotted breaking a window at a business after being refused service. Upon arrival, officers were able to review video of the incident and identify the suspect. The suspect was located a short distance away and taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court December 29, 2026.
