Impaired Arrest

A 66-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.

At approximately 10:30pm on July 4, 2026, the Peterborough Police Service received several calls to 9-1-1 about a vehicle driving up on the sidewalk in the area of Milroy Drive and Evans Drive and striking a parked car before leaving the area.  The investigation lead officers to a residence in the Cumberland Avenue and Franklin Drive area. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle officers noticed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Failure to stop after accident

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 18, 2026.
