Mischief Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after an incident Friday morning.
At approximately 11:00am on Friday, August 28, 2026, officer were notified that a man had thrown an object through a car window in the area of Stewart Street and Charlotte Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a person matching the description given to police. The man ran from officers. During the arrest, the man resisted arrest and struck an officer in the face.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000
- Resist Peace officer
The accused is currently on a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused was further charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on August 29, 2026.
Impaired Arrest
A 23-year-old Selwyn woman is facing impaired charges after an incident on Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:00am, officer were notified of a possible impaired driver parked outside of a local bar. While speaking to the driver, officers detected signs of impairment.
As a result, a 23-year-old Selwyn woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to attend court on October 6, 2026.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 53-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged with break and enter after an incident Sunday morning.
At approximately 12:30am on Sunday, August 30, 2026 officer were called to the area of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, after a man advised he had located someone sleeping on his couch after returning home. Officers arrived on scene, located the male in the living room still asleep on the couch, and placed them under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, the 53-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, enter a dwelling with intent to commit indictable offence
The accused is also bound by a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused was further charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was released on an undertaking and scheduled to attend court on November 17, 2026.
Robbery Arrest
A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with robbery after an incident on Sunday morning.
At approximately 10:00am, 911 dispatch received a call regarding a theft in progress at a local store. During the theft, and while officers were in route to the area, the store employee informed the accused that the police were called. The accused then assaulted the employee and the accused fled the area. Once officers arrived to the area, a description of the accused was given to police and aired for observation. Another on-duty officer located a man matching the description and took them into custody.
As a result of the investigation, the 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with theft
The accused is also bound by a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused was further charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to attend court on November 24, 2026.
