Drug Arrest

A 33-year-old Oshawa man is facing drug trafficking charges after an investigation by the Peterborough Police Drug Unit.

At approximately 6:30pm on October 1, 2026, officers with the Drug Unit along with members of the Emergency Response Team arrested the suspect at a building in the Talwood Drive and Goodfellow Road area.

During a search after arrest officers seized:

• 44.3 grams of Cocaine
• 30.1 grams of Fentanyl

As a result, a 33-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 2, 2026.

Warrant/Weapon Arrest

A 64-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants is facing a new charge after a concerned resident called police.

At approximately 7:00pm on October 1, 2026, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T were called to the area of Lansdowne Street and Goodfellow Road about a man with a knife lunging at people. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a man matching the description given to police and took him into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers found and seized a folding knife in the man’s pocket.  No one was injured in the incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 64-year-old was arrested on the strength of the warrant for assault with a weapon, uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose and further charged with:

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 2, 2026.
