Update: Hit and Run Incident May 9, 2026 – Charge Laid

A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge in connection with a hit and run incident in a Peterborough neighbourhood last month.

The incident happened on Marsdale Drive on Saturday, May 9, 2026.  Officers with the Traffic Unit started an investigation and on Thursday, June 4, 2026, conducted a search warrant at a residence and seized a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident.

As a result of further investigation, on Friday, June 12, 2026, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Owner Permit Operation of a Motor Vehicle on a Highway No Insurance (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
• Fail to Apply for Permit Upon Becoming Owner contrary (Highway Traffic Act)
• Fail to Report Accident (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 1, 2026.
