Complaints
We are committed to working with all members of our community. We strive to maintain positive interaction and communication with all members of the communities we serve. It is only by bringing your concerns to our attention that we can effectively address them.
If you have a complaint about the conduct of a police officer, you may choose to:
- Speak to the Officer in Charge of the station about it at 705-876-1122 on any day or time.
- Contact Policing Standards about it during regular business hours at 705-876-1122.

Formal complaints about a Police Officer can be filed with our Professional Standards office, with the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency (LECA), or at any police station/detachment in Ontario. The Law Enforcement Complaints Agency is a civilian arm’s-length agency of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General with their decisions being independent from the Ontario government, the police, and the community.
Learn more about the public complaints system and how to make a complaint against police by visiting the LECA website or attend any police station to access pamphlets and forms.
If you have a complaint about:
- the adequacy and effectiveness of the policing provided
- the conduct of a police services board member
- the policies of the police services board or the procedures established by the Chief of Police
you may choose to:
- Contact the Inspectorate of Policing at 1-888-333-5078 or through their website, http://www.iopontario.ca.
